MJ-AMP: Tube Amplifiers and 19-inch Rack

We designed a set of tube amplifiers and a 19-inch rack that brings them together, for listening to music at MJ's home. It was installed on April 29, 2019.

Two power amplifiers, a channel divider, a preamplifier, a phono equalizer and a CD player are housed in a single 19-inch rack on casters. The circuits were designed by Komatsu Sound Lab and the metalwork was done by Fujii Seisakusho; we designed the enclosures and the rack.

The amplifier enclosures are hairline-finished stainless steel, with a removable 3 mm face panel and a removable aluminum chassis inside. The rack is 9 mm steel, zinc-plated and phosphate-treated, braced with diagonal round bars.
